WOMBOGRAPHY -
are the "life stepping stones” of this incredible organ. Think about how you would share the biographical time-line of your own life, then from the perspective of your womb make a sequential list of ‘her’ time-line from ‘her' earliest memory.
Because this is tender and powerful territory we recommend that you:
1. Create a womb-space, a safe and nurturing container in your home to open the communication channels between you and your womb. Include cozy blankets, pillows, candles, scents, flowers and whatever brings you comfort.
2. Settle your nervous system - Use whatever practices help you drop beneath the noise of the mind, calm your heart rate and anchor in your body - like yoga, breathing, sound/music that soothes
3. More settled and present, eyes closed, invite a re-membering conversation with your womb. Perhaps open with assurance and a question like: “I am with you as an unconditionally loving listener, witness and scribe. Thank you for your life. Thank you for taking me back to your first memories of your biography up to this date.
4. Write a list of what arises. Keep your eyes soft, your attention inward. Stay in flow as best as able without editing, prettifying, explaining or contextualizing. Be sure and close your time together as you would a best friend.
5. Last step - get some construction paper (the prettier the better and of course it can be white if easier.) Cut out 4 or 5 inch heart shaped pieces and then transfer each ‘womb-experience’ onto the heart shapes. Collect and bring in a zip lock bag
Pace yourself. This exercise tends to be a process. We usually don’t commune with our body in this way so that first meeting can help stir things awake. So, return to the list and contemplate. is there more? Or maybe have a few ‘conversations’ with your womb. And remember that everything is re-membered and re-claimed in the light of your loving presence. YOU are the medicine
